“This is a very exciting announcement for both GIRLS and the Indiana Soccer Foundation, said Dean Vinten, Foundation President.  “It allows a very important program of the GIRLS league to continue”. On November 17, 2012, GIRLS officially voted to dissolve the league due to the expansion of the Indiana Soccer League (ISL) of Indiana Soccer.

Jim Heck, the GIRLS league treasurer, will join the foundation’s Grant Committee to assist in implementing this scholarship program.  The general outline of the program is to award up to $3,000 per season, the individual award up to $200 depending upon the individual’s need. Dean Vinten presents the 2012 Jay Fredrich Good of Soccer Award to Howard Green

The Indiana Soccer Foundation sponsored and presented the Jay Fredrich Good of Soccer Award at the annual Indiana Soccer awards dinner. The award was presented to Howard Green of the Greenfield Area Soccer Club.  This recognition is presented to an individual who has made a significant contribution to youth soccer in the State of Indiana over a long period of time that will be seen for years to come, or to that individual that gives an extraordinary effort to a specific event or program over a relatively short period of time.

“Howard’s passion for developing the youth not only into excellent soccer players and referees, is exceeded only by his drive to give them the experiences to develop the life skills that will serve them well into adulthood,” said Dave Vinten, President of the Indiana Soccer Foundation, during the presentation ceremony.The non-profit organizations mission is to enhance, support, promote and foster programs that benefit the long-term development of local communities in Indiana and the youth within those communities.  “Our primary focus in these communities is to improve the lives of youth through programs such as Soccer Across America and TOPSoccer,’ said Dean Vinten, president of the Foundation.

The Indiana Soccer Foundation hosted its first Hall of Fame reception as part of the Indiana Soccer Annual Award dinner and Hall of Fame Induction program.   The Foundation also sponsored and presented the Jay Fredrich Good of Soccer Award at the annual Indiana Soccer awards dinner.

The Hall of Fame reception honors and recognizes those members of the Indiana soccer community who have made, and continue to make, significant contributions to youth soccer programs throughout Indiana.  ”We’re proud to honor the members of the Hall of Fame – past, present and future – who instill in our youth long term values and improve their lives through sport”, said president of the Foundation, Dean Vinten.  Joining members of the Foundation at the reception were Ron Ray, Phil Orlando, John Mitchell, Jerry Little, Mike Aycock, Roy Messer, Jim Green and Fred Schmalz.  The Foundation also congratulates the new members of the Class of 2013 – Ron Ray and Danny Jeftich.
